Arceon

Decision intelligence for serious independent builders.

Editorial Independence

Decision this page helps you make: Can I trust Arceon’s recommendations to be independent, honest, and transparent?

Arceon exists to reduce decision regret. That requires intellectual honesty, clear disclosure, and recommendations that are not quietly shaped by commercial incentives.

How Recommendations Are Made

Recommendations are based on the decision being evaluated, the user context, available evidence, risk, uncertainty, and the likely cost of a poor choice. Arceon does not recommend an option simply because it is popular, easy to monetize, or convenient to promote.

Each serious recommendation should answer: what decision is being made, who it is for, what evidence matters, what could go wrong, how confident the conclusion is, and what the user should do next.

Commercial Relationships and Disclosure

If Arceon ever earns money through sponsorships, affiliate links, paid reports, software, consulting-lite services, advertising, or partnerships, those relationships should be disclosed clearly where relevant.

  • Commercial relationships should not be hidden.
  • Paid placement should not be disguised as independent recommendation.
  • Sponsored visibility should be clearly labeled.
  • Users should be able to understand when money could be involved.

Affiliate Links Policy

Arceon may use affiliate links in the future, but affiliate availability must never decide the conclusion.

  • An option should not rank higher because it pays.
  • A poor-fit option should not be recommended because it has an affiliate program.
  • Recommendations should remain explainable without commercial incentives.
  • If affiliate links are used, disclosure should be placed close enough for users to notice.

If an affiliate relationship would make a recommendation feel compromised, the recommendation should be changed, disclosed more clearly, or avoided.

Commitment to Intellectual Honesty

Arceon should be willing to say:

  • “There is not enough evidence yet.”
  • “This idea is promising, but not ready.”
  • “This is not a good fit for most builders.”
  • “This recommendation may change.”
  • “The strongest counterargument is serious.”

Trust is built by being useful, not by sounding certain.

Corrections and Updates

Arceon should update pages when evidence, context, or recommendations materially change. Corrections should be handled with the same standard as recommendations: clearly, calmly, and without hiding the reason.

  • Minor edits may improve clarity, formatting, or links.
  • Material updates should explain what changed.
  • Recommendation changes should explain why the previous position no longer fits the evidence.
  • Review dates should help users understand freshness.

Evidence, Interpretation, and Opinion

Arceon separates three things that are often blurred online:

TypeMeaningExample
EvidenceInformation that can support or weaken a conclusion.Repeated user complaints, pricing behavior, competitor data, interviews, demand tests.
InterpretationArceon’s judgment about what the evidence means for the decision.“The problem appears real, but willingness to pay is still unclear.”
OpinionA viewpoint or preference that should not be presented as fact.“This model feels more elegant,” or “this audience seems more interesting.”

When evidence is weak, Arceon should say so. When interpretation is involved, it should be visible. When something is opinion, it should not be disguised as proof.

What Arceon Will Not Do

  • Use hidden pay-to-rank recommendations.
  • Present affiliate availability as proof of quality.
  • Hide serious uncertainty.
  • Use fake urgency or manipulative scarcity.
  • Recommend get-rich-quick schemes.
  • Publish confident conclusions from weak evidence.
